The6thDegree.net is a new site that uses the concept of the Six degrees of separation on a mission to find people that are missing or wanted by a law enforcement agency. The Six degrees of separation refers to an idea from a 1929 short story called Chains by Frigyes Karinthy.
The idea stated that everyone in the world is connected by 6 or less friends to any other person on Earth, even though you may not even know the friend of your own friend and so on to The 6th Degree, there will always be a connection to you. In recent history, research using popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter has shown the theory to be true and that most people are connected to anyone on earth by 6 friends or less.
Over the years there have been millions of people that have gone missing and thousands more that are wanted for crimes and felonies. Every week we will be posting a missing or wanted person and because you and everyone in the world is connected in some way to one of these people in 6 degree or less, we are asking for your help to find these people.
The 6th Degree only asks for a minute of your week and nothing more, All you have to do is look over the photo of a missing or wanted person below, if you know or have seen this person please click the required link to file an anonymous report.
If you do not know the person of the week, we ask that you forward the site to your friends and family to help continue the chain to The 6th Degree, at that point a person that knows the person that is missing or wanted will file the report and the mission will be complete, all thanks to your help for completing the connections.
We have made it as easy as possible for you to help, for example if you do not want to forward an email the old fashioned way, you can share the mission on Facebook and other popular social networking sites by clicking the appropriate link. In addition the site has a built in email a friend tool if you want to send the email using an alternative or anonymous email that isn’t linked to your regular email.
